Eyeglasses

The World Health Organization estimates that 25% of the world
population could have their eyesight improved through corrective
lenses. I've also read that many children who do poorly in school do so
because of poor, uncorrected vision! So whether you've switched
prescriptions, frames, or undergone laser eye surgery, fork those
things over!
I totally recommend donating your eyeglasses to New Eyes for the Needy, a volunteer group in New Jersey. I have sent mine there many times and have found them to be sweet and helpful.
Also, many Lions Club chapters collect eyeglasses for distribution, such as the one in Fairfax, Virginia. For other locations, check their international Web site.
Another option is Unite for Sight, which has numerous chapters throughout the U.S.
People living near the equator also need your sunglasses to prevent
their eyes being damaged by the sun, and, if I'm not mistaken,
snowblindness. They don't care how unfashionable they are, either. The
places above will also take sunglasses. Another option is Unite for Sight's Sunglass Project.

stuff you
don't
want anymore, don't need anymore, or never liked to begin with. Whether
you're motivated by a natural sense
of thrift, an environmental conscience, a desire to help others -- or
all three -- here are some suggestions as to what to do with many of
your unwanted items.
Hope they help!
